Utah Grizzlies Team Schedule
The Grizzlies are Utah’s minor league hockey team and are part of the ECHL league, which is classified as the NHL’s “AA affiliate league”. The Grizzlies have deep roots in Utah, with many minor league hockey teams having played in the state.
The best way to stay on top of what’s going on with the Utah Grizzlies is by keeping a close eye on their schedule. The Grizzlies professional hockey season begins in the middle of October with preseason play. This is meant to get the players into shape and ready for the upcoming season.
The regular season begins at the start of November and carries on until the middle of April. Once regular season play has ended, the league’s postseason play kicks off with the playoffs. While the Utah Grizzlies have never won the league’s championship, they have made the playoffs nine times since their introduction to the league in 2005.
While the offseason may be a bore for many, die hard Grizzlies fans stay up to date on the team's roster. Since the Grizzlies are a minor league affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, their roster is considerably different every year. The Grizzlies get new players in the offseason as assigned by the Duck’s after the NHL Entry Draft, which is held two months after the previous season has ended.
